Sippin 0% is a tribute to the sound of UK garage, reimagined through the lens of nostalgia. Jem Gemini attempts to capture the feeling of growing up in the late 90s, watching older kids buying records and hearing 2-step from cars outside the arcade. Too young to fully appreciate the genre, but absorbing the iconic sound that would be reminiscent of that time. It's an intentionally naive album, produced with simple MIDI instruments from the Roland SC-55 and Kawai GMega sound modules. A lot of these instruments were sampled heavily by video game composers for the N64, a console which provided a formative experience of music for many kids of that era. The end result is unabashedly nostalgic, with seven tracks overflowing with much needed warmth and positivity.
